TALKING IN/TO MYSELF @ théâtre de la cité internationale / festival d'automne - "attention sorties d'écoles" _ 06.10.2012
Ali Moini présentera son solo TALKING IN/TO MYSELF dans le cadre de la programation Attention sorties d'écoles (Festival d'Automne) au Théâtre de la cité internationale, le samedi 6 octobre 2012 à 17h30.
L'invitation a été lancée par le Festival d'Automne et le Théâtre de la Cité internationale au chorégraphe Xavier Le Roy et au critique et curator Christophe Wavelet : ils devaient sélectionner un ensemble de spectacles signés par de jeunes chorégraphes, sortants ou à peine sortis de leurs écoles respectives.

Xavier Le Roy et Christophe Wavelet se sont donc mis au travail pendant quatre mois. Ils ont vu beaucoup de spectacles, puisqu'il se produit actuellement bien des choses avec ce que Christophe Wavelet qualifie aujourd'hui de "régime chorégraphique de l 'art". Pas forcément des projets répondant aux critères convenus, donc, mais plutôt des initiatives capcables de prendre acte de la possibilité toujours présente, d'une danse qui vise à "s"émanciper des formules apprises". Après ce passage en revue, ils ont convié un ensemble de propositions issues de cinq grandes écoles européennes : P.A.R.T.S (Bruxelles) + TRANSFORME (Royaumont) + MYCHOREOGRAPHY (Stockholm) + ESSAIS (Angers) + EX.E.R.CE (Montpellier)

Ali Moini will be part of Dance Omi International Dance Collective 2012 in NYC.
Since 2005, the Dance Omi International Dance Collective has brought together ten accomplished dance artists from around the world for three weeks of creative exchange each summer. Though the program culminates in informal showings on the Omi campus, the emphasis is not a performance product; rather, a gently facilitated process of experimentation and collaboration.
This exploration is enhanced by providing resources that dancers and choreographers often lack: space, time and other artists with whom to work. Under the direction of the Dance Omi Director and an alumni Guest Mentor, residents learn from each other’s creative process and the freedom to play. The result is a model of creative process and community building that envisions consequences for the participants beyond the sphere of art making.

Omi, Oh My
What are artists from Italy, India, Iran, Russia, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, and the U.S. doing on a 300-acre retreat in upstate New York? From Aug. 7–27, 10 dancers and choreographers from these far-flung countries will come together to form the 2012 Dance Omi International Dance Collective at the scenic Omi International Arts Center in Ghent, NY. Directed by choreographer Christopher K. Morgan (see “Taking Off,” April 2011), with the mentorship of NYC-based dancemaker Shandoah Goldman, the collective will be in residence for three weeks, creating new work together and presenting the not-necessarily-finished results at an informal showing on Aug. 25. The residency also opens with a laid-back performance, The Artists Salon, on Aug. 11, an opportunity for the participants to share their work with each other and the public before delving into cross-cultural collaborations."

It Shocks Me But Not You
is the tittle of the new creation of Ali Moini
to be premiered in Montpellier Danse Festival on 28th and 29th of June 2012.
A 1 hour piece performed by Ona Fusté, Fabio Bello, Émilie Combet and Ali Moini.
"How much similarities are there between those people?
how they in a group, can share their memories and experiences, a group of people who have had a strong event in their life?
and how they can and want to share it with the other who did not have that experience?
do they prefer to share that event if they have the possibilities to share it
or do they prefer not to transmit this NOT PLEASANT memory to the others?
and if they want to share it, how creative the memories relative to that event could be ?"
